Description

2020 International Virtual Summit on Student Voice:

Students Leading Meaningful Change

The voices of students are vital in responding to the challenges of the past few months. This interruption of the status quo has opened tremendous opportunities for critical dialogues and innovation by/with our students. This Summit and follow up sessions are designed for students and their adult partners to hear and discuss implemented and replicable models for including the voices of students as you address the needs in your school, youth-serving organization, and/or community.

Collaborative partners for this virtual summit have dedicated themselves to creating opportunities for students, educators, and families to share their experiences, address equity and access, call for innovation in educational and social systems, and empower the active engagement of students in needed change. They will be sharing what they have done and learned about the process hoping to inspire and engage you, as a student or adult, to create these opportunities at whatever scale is possible through your role.

Please share and encourage students to participate--we want their voices in the discussions.

The topics of this virtual Summit are designed to:

  • share "how to" strategies and resources for fostering student voice in a variety of contexts and grade levels
  • inspire action and momentum to include student voice in schools, youth-serving organizations, agencies, and communities
  • establish a network to both motivate and support efforts focused on student voice.

Agenda (subject to change) Registered participants will receive the event link and have the opportunity to select a breakout session a few days before June 23rd.

Special guest presenters:

  • Prichard Student Voice Team, Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, Kentucky
